A few Marlinites took to the road last week in style to visit our newest client, Wells’ Dairy, owner of the Blue Bunny® brand.
Agency prez Michael Stelzer had the brilliant idea of renting an RV for the nine-hour road trip, which meant everyone (except the poor soul driving the bouncy, swerving mess of aluminum, wood cabinets and old carpet) got to spread out and relax on the couch, work at the kitchen table and generally not sit in a cramped van for the marathon trip.
At first, the lack of seatbelts was a little freaky as we careened through multi-lane insanity outside Kansas City at 70 mph. Then again, the idea of a couch with seatbelts seemed equally freaky, and we soon leveled out onto uncrowded highways surrounded by ever-repeating fields of corn.
Also, we still can’t decide whether the toilet not working was a good thing or a bad thing. Probably a good thing.
The RV was a big hit in Le Mars, Iowa, home of Wells’ Dairy. Everywhere we went, it seemed we were waved at or cheered for or unabashedly stared down. From the kitsch and steaks at Archie’s, to Wells’ Dairy corporate offices, to the loose-meat-topped Bob Dogs at Bob’s Drive Inn, it was impossible for us to arrive unnoticed.
Thanks to our clients at Well’s Dairy for a wonderful and enlightening trip to the Ice Cream Capital of the World.

No mention about the Japanese baseball documentary on dvd?
Movies w/ subtitles well suited for the less-than-soundproofed walls @ 70 mph.
