Marlin Picks: Top Springfield Eateries ^JT

  1. China King – There are A LOT of Chinese restaurants in Springfield, but for me China King at Republic Road and James River is hands down the best. Always great food and no doubt the best crab rangoon in town. I eat there more than I’d like to admit.
  2. Gallery Bistro – Fantastic food and (usually) fantastic art. Great place for a date with the wife in downtown Springfield.
  3. Flame – Another great downtown establishment. Excellent upscale dining for special occasions or they offer the red room with a more budget friendly menu when the pockets are a little on the light side.
  4. Kai – Kai is my go to place for sushi in Springfield. Aside from great sushi they offer a diverse Japanese fusion menu and the atmosphere is very contemporary and hip.
  5. Pickelman’s (not Pickermans) – I love sandwiches and Pickelman’s has some good ones. Try the pizza guy sandwich. Pure deliciousness.
  6. Ott’s Pasta – This is a great local take-out only restaurant. It actually operates out of an old filling station, hence why they have no seating. But don’t let that scare you away – they have great pasta and always-friendly service.
  7. Yen Ching – Yen Ching is actually in Ozark, but this place is worth the drive. Upscale Chinese at affordable prices. Hard to beat that.
  8. Aunt Martha’s Pancake House – If you like those old school greasy spoon establishments that have withstood the test of time, than you’ll love Aunt Martha’s. This place has a loyal following for breakfast but you’d better show up early if you want to get a seat. *Bonus factoid* Willy Nelson worked here for a period of time in the 60’s.
  9. Lindburg’s – One of C Street’s finest and if I’m not mistaken, it’s the oldest bar in Springfield. Lindburg’s is less about eating and more about having a drink and enjoying great music. You won’t find any popped collars here – just good people, good times and talented local musicians.
  10. DiGiacintos – Best chicken salad sandwich…ever! And good everything else too. But the chicken salad sandwich is pretty stinkin’ good.
